PC and laptop repairs:
We pride ourselves at Syn-star that we can pretty much fix anything when it comes to computers. The main difference is we are one of the few companies in the UK that have the expertise to repair laptop's down to component level.

PC upgrades:
We can upgrade all aspects of desktop machines:

• Memory (RAM) upgrade
• Processor upgrade
• Motherboard upgrade
• DVD/Bluray drive upgrade

If it goes in a desktop tower, we can install it.

PC migration and hard drive imaging:
IF you have an existing Desktop PC or server, we can migrate the settings onto a new piece of hardware.

We specialise in creating images or any type of hard drive If you have a server for example, we can create and entire image of the hard drives so if you get any hardware failure we can re-create the image onto new hard drives and getting you back up and running with as little disruption as possible. We can create these images for desktop and laptop computers. This is a much more detailed way of backing-up a hard drive, rather than just a data back-up.

Server installation, setup and migration:
We have fully trained technicians that can work on all aspects of Microsoft and linux servers.
We have years of experience working with various single and multi-site servers.
We Can either setup new servers or continuing support servers which have already been setup and are in use.
We can also migrate existing servers to new hardware or evening upgrading the software and migrating all of the data across to new hardware. If you are moving site or downgrading from multiple servers into one we can also facilitate this.
We can also host and maintain your server so that it will be located at one of our support centres.

Printer sales and repairs:
We have a large range of printers in stock in our various support centres. We can also order in anything we do not have in stock. We specialise in Printers, all-in-one printers and photocopiers.

We can service and repair all makes and models of printer. We do not however fix printers under manufacturer warranty.

We do ask that you make sure there is ink/toner in the printer, we will charge for cartridges even if the printer is beyond economical repair.

Cabling and network installations:
We can supply and instal all types of BT and RJ45 CAT5 and CAT6 cable.
Are you considering rewiring a building or possibly moving to new premises where you need a LAN and telephone network. We can also install electric power sockets also.

We can install a network from 10 - 5000 sockets.
We can give you fixed price quotations on all our network installations.
We taylor all network installations to you exact requirements.
You choose how many sockets and also the type of network (it is popular to have twin sockets for data and voice).
You can also choose how you would like the installation to look, we also offer various colours of trunking.

We can also replace existing cables and also add to existing networks.

Remote support:
Syn-star specialise in remote support.
As long as you have a broadband connection we can remotely access you PC and server.
All of our remote support is done through a web portal meaning that you do not have to install any software on the individual machines. This is much safer for the end user as you know exactly when your hardware is being accessed. Remote support is much faster and we charge per 15 minute block.

Paperless office software is becoming a large part of all modern business. Whether it is to cut down paperwork, send invoices via email or just make your company run smoother. There are currently dozens of software companies offering this type of software, this industry is growing rapidly.

Remote work place solutions:
We have been using remote access software for over five years, when it wasn't really heard of, in that time we have certainly learnt the importance of offering the right support for the right issues.

The main advantage of remote support is that we only charge for the time we are connected, also our minimum is fifteen minutes, rather than one hour for on site support.

There are three main ways of offering remote support:

1. All windows servers from 2003 have a remote console, we can remote into these servers directly through any network.
2. We can install software on to individual computers to allow access to these for direct support.
3. We use a web portal (this is our preferred method) to remote into any computer, as it is a virtual portal there is no need to download software on to any computer. This makes it much more secure for the end user as you know we do not and cannot get access to any PC. Also there is no 'back door' access, so we can only see on the PC what you see us doing.

We can offer remote support for any person / company that has broad band Internet access.
